As a child I was caught cutting my doll’s hair. I said to my mum “don’t worry it will grow!” So it was no surprise to my parents that when I left school I started as a hairdressing apprentice in a salon in Southgate and attended college one day a week. I qualified in level 2 NVQ and I continued to further my career by doing various private courses at Stephen Way in Bond Street, courses with Patrick Cameron in hair up, bridal hair with Guy Kremer and advanced cutting and colouring courses at the L’Oreal academy. In 2001 I opened my own salon and have grown my business since. I love hairdressing and everything that comes with the job including meeting great people along the way. I will always continue to educate myself to keep up with new trends, techniques and inspirations.
My name is Sophia, I was born in London, and I am of Italian and Greek origin. I graduated in the 1980’s from Ray Cochrane’s beauty college in Baker Street as a fully qualified beauty therapist and make-up artist with both British and International diplomas. I am qualified in every aspect of beauty. I have been with Nadya and her team for four years now and have many clients including celebrities.
I always wanted to become a hairdresser so when I left school I took the chance to do a hairdressing apprentice course at Nadya’s I went to college for 2 years and qualified in 2004. I am very proud and work very hard to have a fully booked column with amazing clients who best know me as the crazy girl that has had all colours in her hair! I love all aspects of hairdressing but my passion is cutting. After 14 years of hairdressing my commitment and loyalty to the salon has been an amazing journey and experience that I hope continues.
In January 2006 at the age of 16 I joined the team at Nadya’s to become a hairdresser, I attended Enfield college and completed my level 2 nvq in hairdressing. Since then I have grown into a qualified hairdresser with a great clientele. If I had to chose, I would say extensions are what I most enjoy doing as well as blow drying. I love being a hairdresser and enjoy all aspects of my work.
